LEX 1445001- Caller indicates getting ill after eating at Subway, specifically 3/4/2016 after drinking Dr Pepper fountain soda.
Site visit- As per PIC no other reports have been received. She indicated ice machine at the soda fountain is serviced every 3 months by 3rd party vendor and the soda nozzles are cleaned and sanitized every night.
Owner called and provided documentation for the ice machine service on 12/24/2015. The entire unit was serviced, washed and sanitized.
Report to health department if any additional reports are received.
Observed soda fountain area, box-soda storage area. Nothing notable.

    Observation: The food scoop is missing the end cap and is not longer easily cleanable.
    Correction: Repair or replace the scoop to permit easy cleaning and prevent the migration of deleterious substances, or transference of colors, odors, or tastes to food.

    Observation: Knive was rinsed only at handsink.
    Correction: After cleaning and rinsing of the food-contact surface, the surface shall be effectively sanitized before coming in contact with food and before use. Do not use handsink for wasrewashing, use 3 basin sink.
  • Handwashing Cleanser - Availability (corrected on site)
    Observation: Soap was not provided at the hand washing lavatory in the kitchen handsink.
    Correction: Hand soap must be provided at all hand washing lavatories to encourage proper hand washing. Hand cleanser must always be present to aid in reducing microorganisms and particulate matter found on hands.

    Observation: The handwashing facility is blocked, preventing access by employees for easy handwashing. (Unopened bag of chicken in sink by worktable and trays in sink at line)
    Correction: Access to the handwashing facility identified above is to be available during all hours of operation. Remove the items preventing its use.
  • Hand Drying Provision (corrected on site)
    Observation: No disposable towels were provided at the hand washing lavatory at the line. Facility is out of papertowels until delivery.
    Correction: Hand drying devices such as individual disposable paper towels, a continuous towel system that supplies the user with a clean towel or heated air hand drying device must be provided at all hand washing lavatories to encourage proper hand washing and avoid employees to drying their hands on their clothing or other unclean materials. RECOMMEND PURCHASING A ROLL AT GROCERY STORE UNTIL DELIVERY.
