Viewed food handler card. Copy of food handler class schedule left on site. Certified food manager certificate need to be transferred over to a Norfolk food manager certificate. There is a $10 transfer fee. Facility recommended for permit renewal. Once application and permit fee have been paid and processed, food permit will be printed and issued.

Fire extinguisher tag expired. Call servicer on tag to update fire extinguisher. Copy of 2015 Food manager and food handler class schedules left on site. All employees handling food need to have a current food handler card. Food manager certificate need to be posted. Application will be issued to fill out and send in with $40 permit fee.
  • Critical: Backflow Prevention Device, When Required* (corrected on site) (repeated violation)
    Observation: Observed a hose attached to a faucet fixture (mop sink). The hose extended below the flood rim level of the sink basin.
    Correction: Install an approved backflow prevention device or alter the length of the hose to provide the necessary separation between the water supply and the flood rim level of the sink basin. The minimum allowable separation distance must be at least 2x the diameter of the water supply inlet and at least 1 inch.

Spoke with manager concerning items to be addressed. Certified food manager Serv Safe certificate need to be transferred over to a Norfolk Food Manager certificate. There is a $10 transferring fee. Post manager's certificate out front where it is visible. Coca cola drink unit gasket was replaced, part ordered per manager on duty during inspection. Fire suppression system and fire extinguisher tags need to be checked and serviced. Application need to be filled out and permit fee paid. Once application and food permit fee is paid and processed, food permit will be issued.

    Observation: Some service employees working in the food service establishment without having a valid food service card.
    Correction: A food service employee shall have a valid food service card prior to working in the food service establishment. The person in charge shall not employ anyone to work in the food service establishment until they posses a valid food service card. Viewed food handler cards. Informed by manager on duty that some employees haven't worked due to business being slow. Employees will bring copy of food handler cards to place on file upon returning to work. No other issues observed during inspection.

Viewed copies of two employees food handlers cards, Janice Nall and Nicolette Jefferson. Viewed copy of Donald Wells certified food manager card. We donot accept food handler cards from VAFOODHANDLERS.COM. Viewed one employee food handler card from VAFOODHANDLERS.COM which that employee will have to retake food handler class. Follow up inspection will be conducted on Monday, 4-15-13 to check remaining employee cards.
