No temperature control for safety food is stored or prepared at this location. All food is prepared in the main kitchen of the Tides Inn and brought to this "remote dining room". Used equipment and utensils are likewise returned to the main kitchen for cleaning.
This inspection was received by Sophie Marais.
  • Critical: Hands - Preventing Contamination from Hands* (corrected on site)
    Observation: Employees observed handling ready-to-eat (RTE) food with their bare hands (putting orange slice on beverage glass as edible garnish).
    Correction: Provide suitable utensils such as a fork or tongs, or single-use gloves, to handle RTE food such as garnishing beverage glasses at the bar, or adding lemon slices to water glasses for flavor and flair, to prevent contamination from hands.
  • Sanitizing Solutions, Testing Devices (corrected on site)
    Observation: There was no test kit in the facility for monitoring the concentration of the chemical sanitizing solution (quaternary ammonium).
    Correction: Obtain a quaternary ammonium test kit, so that employees can accurately monitor the concentration of the sanitizing solutions and maintain them at a safe and effective level.
