Let the owner know these containers need to be switched out.
  • KDA_4_204112A - --REPEAT: The thermometers in the coolers are placed at the back of the coolers rather than in the front where it will be warmest.
  • KDA_4_60111A - --REPEAT: There are three containers of shallots and garlic on the retail floor that have stickers on the outside of the containers. The sticker was identified as remaining from when the containers were originally purchased. Let the owner know these stickers cannot be left on the containers.
  • KDA_5_50117 - --REPEAT: The unisex employee's restroom does not have a covered trashcan available.
  • KDA_6_20215A3 - --REPEAT: There is a gap between the two front doors of the establishment, approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch in width.

  • 4-102.11(B)(1) - --In the "Turbo Air" cooler there is a Dillons grocery bag being used to store a leafy green vegetable that is being sold. The vegetable is in direct contact with the plastic of the bag. Letting the owner know that this bag may not be used for direct contact with food items.
  • KDA_3_20111A - --There are meat buns, soup, fresh egg rolls, and pork sandwiches that the owner said were prepared by Thai Binh, a food establishment from Wichita. Thai Binh does not have a food processing license for the resale of their products in other establishments. COS - speaking with the owner about such items not being sold until the supplier is properly licensed and inspected. The items present today were all sold before the license issue for the supplier was discovered.
  • KDA_3_20111C - --There are individual packages labeled "Lychee" that do not have labels for the packages being sold individually. There are also containers of rice flour on the retail shelf, and turkey in the freezer that are lacking any labeling. The owner said the Lychee, rice flour, and turkey all come in big boxes that have labels with ingredients and nutrition information. COS - these were removed from the retail floor. He will get individual labels for these packages from the manufacturer so that they can be sold.
  • KDA_3_30211A1a - --In the "Turbo Air" cooler there are two raw pork rolls in a basket directly above green onions. COS - the pork rolls were put into the freezer.
  • KDA_3_50116A2 - --There are several items sitting out on the counter at the register. These items include meat buns, soup, fresh egg rolls, and pork sandwiches. There is no temperature control on these items. The temperatures are as follows: Soup (Coconut Milk, Cooked Seaweed) - 87.5 F Meat Bun - 78.8 F Fresh Egg Roll - 74.6 F Pork Sandwich - 67.8 F Upon speaking with the owner, he said these items were picked up from a supplier in Wichita this morning, at approximately 11am. They were brought straight to the store to be sold. COS - These items were moved into the cooler. In the "Turbo Air" cooler on the retail floor the ambient air is reaching 49.3 F. The following items in the cooler were above proper cold holding temperatures: Bean Sprouts - 55.4 F Duck Eggs - 57.9 F Pork Roll - 58.9 F COS - the owner provided a delivery receipt showing the bean sprouts had been delivered this morning approximately two hours previously. The bean sprouts were put into another cooler. The pork rolls were identified as having been put into the cooler approximately two hours ago with the delivery. The pork rolls were put into the freezer. The Duck eggs were identified as having been in the cooler since before yesterday. The duck eggs were discarded.
  • KDA_3_60211B1 - --The establishment takes fresh produce (bok choy, gai lan, etc) and breaks a big box down into smaller quantities to sell. The individual bags they put this produce into are not labeled with the names of the produce they are storing.
  • KDA_4_10111A - --There are multi-purpose containers with no markings indicating they are safe for food being used to store food products. There are also old news papers being used to line the bottom of these containers and catch any moisture draining from the fresh produce. The food items are in direct contact with the plastic of the containers and the newspapers. The food items include garlic, cilantro, leafy greens, limes, and shallots. Letting the owner know that these containers either need to be replaced or need food grade linings on all sides.
  • KDA_4_20211A2 - --The container displaying fresh cilantro on the retail floor is cracked and chipped on one corner. Letting the owner know this container needs to be replaced.
  • KDA_4_204112A - --The thermometers in the coolers are hanging in the back of the coolers, rather than hanging in the front where it will be warmest.
  • KDA_4_30111 - --The "Turbo Air" cooler is measuring 49.3 F ambient air temperature after being left closed for 30 minutes. It was discovered that someone had left the temperature on the warmest setting. The temperature gauge was turned down.
  • KDA_4_60111A - --There are plastic storage containers with raw produce on display on the retail floor. The containers have stickers from the original manufacturer's labeling on the outside of the containers. The stickers are on the containers for the garlic, cilantro, limes, shallots, and leafy greens. Letting the owner know that these stickers cannot be left on the containers. He is switching the containers out before the next inspection.

  • KDA_7_10111 - --On the retail shelf there are 24 packages of Curing Salt (Nitrite Prague Powder) that do not have English labeling. There are packages stored with these that do have English labeling added to the packages. COS - the owner is adding the English labels to all packages missing the labels.
  • KDA_7_20111B - --On the retail shelf there are bags of Curing Salt (Nitrite Powder) being stored on a shelf directly above breading mix. COS - let the owner know that since the Nitrite is a controlled substance, it may not be stored above other food products. He rearranged the shelves.
  • KDA_Defacto - --"Cold Drinks" Cooler: Soy Milk - 39.9 F "Coca Cola" Cooler: Cooked Udon Noodles - 39.5 F --Ownership verified.
