Description: Performing arts get top billing at Sonoma State, with works from the pens of local playwrights and international favorites performed year-round, along with dance recitals and musical concerts. The school’s Everett B. Person Theatre seats 475 and has featured such Broadway plays as You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Scapino. A smaller theater seating 175 presents plays in the round, mostly student productions suitable for the more intimate stage. Romeo and Juliet and West Side Story are good examples. There is also Warren Auditorium, which is devoted to music events throughout the year, from jazz to chamber music. Prices of tickets vary but generally run in the range of $25 to $35.

Description: This is one Sonoma County building designed specifically for the arts. When the city of Rohnert Park was developed in the late 1970s, an $8 million performing arts complex of 35,000 square feet was included in the master plan. The center houses two theaters designed and built exclusively for dance, music, and theatrical performances. The Nellie W. Codding Theatre seats 511 patrons and offers performances from nationally known arts groups. The innovative Bette Condiotti Experimental Theatre seats 175 and presents more unusual and creative programming. Main Stage ticket prices usually run $15 to $26.
