So far we've dodged the bullet in N. Troy. I thought we would lose a tree or two - the wind was really strong for 5 or 6 hours. It's still blowing, but not as hard as it was. No power outages locally either. (knock on wood) But there will be some bad flooding for sure when all is said and done. I don't think the rivers will crest until sometime late tonight or tomorrow.

That car was either a Dodge Spirit or Plymouth Acclaim. We had two of them back in the 90s and they were reliable.

Things are getting nuts here. Bridges out everywhere, power out all over, there are no roads out of town that I know of. I heard downtown Brandon is under water. Patch's Pond in Rutland is supposedly overflowing and leaking. Anyone know if the Kingsley Covered Bridge in Clarendon is still there?

How is Middlebury?

I am from NJ, hanging out in a coffee shop with electricity and wifi because I have no power.

My daughter just spent her summer at Middlebury Language School (studying Mandarin) and we really liked the town. Now I see on the TV in this coffee shop that Vermont is having alot of flooding. Thinking of Otter Creek and our new favorite restaurant, Jacksons on the River.

DD was supposed to be on a flight to China today, but that didn't happen, obviously. Airports are closed here.

Not sure on Middlebury. Brandon was hit hard though, some distance South, and the storm headed up that way so it might not be good, but I don't really know...

East Middlebury had been evacuated.
Many, many roads and bridges watched out. This will come down as one of the worst floods Vermont has ever seen.
Go to WCAX's facebook page to see pics. Amazing.

Bennington County Police, Fire, and EMS Live Scanner Audio Feed

Yes East Middlebury has been evacuated.

Last thing we need now is this dang wind.
