I was on the slopes at lunch...roads are not in great shape and definitely some whiteout conditions. We had a lull mid-morning but it really seems to be coming down now.

A look at the temps for northern tier U.S.. While 30s here is well belw norm and cold for March, I'm not seeing the same for Vermont. I could be wrong but 30s doesnt seem cold for March there

Anyone have any stats from the climo stations or sister stations lately?

Maine/NH/Boston area getting hammered with snow now

Climo is upper 30s for Veromnt and close to 40F for highs in NH. Average lows are around 18-22 in NH and a bit less in VT. The negative NAO seems to be bringing much colder air temperatures to the northern Great Lakes instead of New England. Lows a couple of days ago were -28F in International Falls, MN, -21F in Brainerd, MN, -14F in Hayward, WI, and -13F in Eagle River, WI. These are typical colder spots, but those are very cold temperatures for March for those locations.

I can not pinpoint the year, but I do remember it being -29F on my wife's birthday (3/22) in the late 80s here in the NEK. I don't recall people getting all excited about it, so as a newcomer to the area, I thought it was just business as usual.

Interesting way to get spring started: I just measured an average depth of 18" of new snow.

Pretty awesome...not sure how much we got here, but I'd guess at least 12-14".

We had 9" here in Colchester. Looking at the forecast, much or most of it will be gone by the beginning of next week. Temps from Sunday on are supposed to be mid 40's. We are just at the freezing point here in Burlington this morning and it looks like rain in from of the windows with the snow melting off the roof.

Dumped almost all afternoon at Mad River Glen today. Maybe from noon to 5-6.
