Europe will recover and Germany will lead the way, The EU with total agreement has just voted 54 billion Euros in aid to the Ukraine. The US will not abandon NATO or turn it's back on Europe. All these rumours are a byproduct of Trump's poisonous influence over the GOP led Congress coupled with the media's never ending tendency to ring alarm bells at every utterance he or one of his sycophants mouth off. . Nikki Hailey will get the nomination and although a staunch Republican she is no Donald Trump nor inclined to follow his cockeyed ideas on foreign policy. She is also far more likely to defeat Joe Biden in November whereas Trump could not

Great post.

Eyeballing economic projections, Brexit and all, it appears The UK will lead Europe, among the larger economies anyway, in relative economic growth for a long while going forward.

Outside Condoleezza Rice coming to the rescue the US' only sane path forward is with Haley. There is a chance Joe Manchin may run on a third party ticket. If it's Biden v. Trump.....I'll vote for Manchin even as a write in.

Excepting the intransigent recent Russian aggression has underscored the need for a robust NATO in the minds of most Americans.

From a UK and European perspective a Haley victory would possible be the best result, as just like in the US itself there is no great enthusiasm for another Biden vs Trump election, and both have issues in relation to international affairs and foreign policy.

Although the election is for the US and US citizens to decide, and in terms of the UK and Europe we will just have to prepare for all eventualities and scenarios.

I would hope that the UK leads Europe forward in economic growth but the problem is that the UK is no longer part of the EU and therefore has no say in it's future economic plans. Logically then it will be Germany after its present economic doldrums have passed that will be the main driving force in that respect.

IMO Biden's Achilles Heel is the southern border mess. Other than that the economy has recovered and is continuing to do very well with good economic growth and very low unemployment. His handling of the Ukraine war and the middle east mess so far is commendable.

I am not a Republican voter but if Haley wins I'll be quite happy to accept that. Anyone but Trump

It's becoming ever more clear that NATO will find itself becoming more and more involved in affairs outside of Europe and Europe cannot thrive or remain at peace if the rest of the world is in turmoil. The world is no longer a collection of separate villages
