Where I live is almost entirely white and hispanic. Very few asians, blacks and middle easterners. All my friends growing up and basically all the people I work with now are either white or hispanic. I dont even think about it and dont really care about diversity. It makes zero impact on whether I do or do not like an area. My dad was white/german heritage and my mom was hispanic/mexican heritage.

My region is not diverse and that is a bad thing. Modern professionals tend to not want to build careers in "backwater" regions.....

The dominant ethnic group in my town is Portuguese/Azores. The Census Bureau doesn’t classify that as Hispanic so it looks very white/non-Hispanic on paper. Black here is Cape Verdean. The city next door has transitioned from Portuguese/Azores to Hispanic. It will be a generation before that is reflected in the suburbs.

The community I identify most closely with is my apartment building in LIC, Queens, NYC which has 600 units and anywhere from 1,200 - 1,500 residents.

It's an entirely mixed-income building so the building is more racially/ethnically diverse than the rest of the immediate neighborhood which skews upper-middle/upper class and is 80-85% White/Asian combined.

My guess is that my building is 40% White, 30% Asian, 20% Hispanic, 10% Black with lots of ethnic variety amongst all races.

Metro Atlanta is very diverse as a whole, but certain parts of the region are more homogeneous - both heavily White outer exurbs and predominantly Black areas in parts of the city and inner ring southern suburbs. There are a few residential areas scattered around the metro mostly occupied by other groups such as Mexicans/Central Americans or South Asians.

My specific area in Cobb County doesn't have a majority race/ethnic group and has plenty of transplants from across the US and beyond as well as some local natives, and many other communities in the metro area are similar. I wouldn't recommend this area to those who want to live somewhere they seldom encounter people from different backgrounds.

I'm white and live in a majority Black town. I'm OK with it, as there's not much racially-motivated unrest here that I've seen. The crackheads will steal from anyone

I am white Hispanic (Cuban) so racially, I am part of the majority. In terms of ethnic/cultural background, I am part of the minority. I blend in with the rest of the "whites" unless I am speaking Spanish on the phone with relatives back home in my thick and fast Caribbean accent.

My area is pretty diverse (northeast Dakota county). South Saint Paul specifically isnt, but West Saint Paul is pretty diverse and thats just west of me. There's a Cuban restaurant in West St. Paul which is pretty nice. A lot of Mexican restaurants too, which is my husband's background.

I am moving to St. Louis Park in the end of October, and that area is about a quarter Jewish so its diverse as well, even if its largely white. I am used to living in very Catholic areas for the most part.

I lived in Brooklyn Center which is the most diverse city in Minnesota and I had neighbours of all different backgrounds.
