  • Observed debris accumulation on the blower component in the top if the kitchen refrigerator. Clean and ensure routine cleaning.
  • Observed cups and bowls that were stacked together wet for storage. Ensure dishes are allowed to air dry before storing.

  • One gallon of milk, 2 cartons of almond milk, 1 container of creamer and 5 cheese sticks were voluntarily discarded by staff at time of inspection.
  • Observed milk and cheese in a refrigerator that was reading 45 F. Potentially hazardous foods must be kept at a minimum of 41 F. The refrigerator had a cracked seal and was taken out of service during this inspection. At the time of the inspection, a new refrigerator (Igloo 3.2 cu ft. ) was ordered from Wal-Mart.
  • Observed kitchen staff without hair restraints. Ensure effective hair restraints are worn.
  • Observed chlorine sanitizer in spray bottles in 6 day care rooms with sanitizer between 25-50 ppm. Chlorine in sanitizer spray bottle must be between 100-200 ppm. All of the bottles from the rooms were remade at the time of inspection and brought to the correct sanitizer concentration.

  • Attempted to calibrate 2 thermometers. They read 220F when placed in ice water. Manager got 2 other thermometers. These calibrated accurately. No temperature charts were available to indicate which thermometers were in use.
  • Observed kitchen employee improperly washing their hands. Touched handle without paper towel. Retraining with kitchen staff to go over correct hand-washing technique within 10 days. Email/mail TCHD who attended and what information was discussed.
