Description: The UNT Health Science Center sits on 33 acres in the Fort Worth Cultural District and houses the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine; Department of Physician Assistant Studies; Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences; School of Public Health; and School of Health Professions. U.S. News & World Report has ranked the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine one of the top medical schools in the nation for primary care for eight consecutive years. More than 1,200 students are enrolled.

Description: Grown from Baylor University’s theology department, the school was founded in 1907 at the Baylor University campus in Waco but moved to its present home in 1910 and operates under the Southern Baptist Convention. Much like a university in its function, it’s divided into three schools, those of theology, educational ministries, and church music, each offering its own degree programs and staffed by its own faculty. Well more than 40,000 graduates have been sent into the world of worship and ministry.

Description: More than 37,000 students are enrolled in TCC’s associate degree and technical programs at five campuses, including those in Hurst, northwest and south Fort Worth, Arlington, and the Trinity River Campus in downtown Fort Worth. There are three degrees offered, including the Associate of Arts, Associate of Arts in Teaching, and Associate of Applied Science.

Description: This is the largest of the private schools in Tarrant County and possibly the most prestigious, with an enrollment of about 1,125. Kindergarten is a full-day program, and all students work with computers from that time. Middle school students work in community service at Habitat for Humanity, Tarrant Area Food Bank, and more. Upper school students are offered a full range of honors programs. Athletics offerings range from cross-country, hockey, volleyball, and lacrosse to basketball, football, baseball, and more.

Description: Since 1959, Trinity Valley has grown from 7 to 940 students. Today’s campus covers 75 acres in southwest Fort Worth, with special offerings including Spanish and Chinese language classes for children in K through third grades; a full component of art, choir, and drama along with English, Latin, ability-driven mathematics, science, and social studies for middle schoolers; and a wide range of elective courses for students in upper school. Plenty of athletics are available, too.
