If you choose to stay downtown, be aware that parking can present a problem here, as many hotels do not have their own parking lots and merely suggest that you park on the street, which is fine for a few hours, but may be risky overnight. Top-end hotels, such as El Camino Hotel and the Doubletree, do have their own underground parking lots and offer free parking to guests. Description: Operated by Marriott, this chain hotel is located just off of I-10 on the Westside, on a circular loop adjacent to a Wal-Mart. All 103 rooms are studio suites that feature a pantry and small kitchen area. There are two types of suites: a larger queen studio with two queen beds and a sofa bed, or a slightly smaller king suite with a king bed and a sofa bed. In both rooms, spacious living areas are separated from the bedroom by a partial wall. Most notably, the decor is colorful and modern, in contrast to many of the more drab business hotels. A number of dining options are nearby, including Leo’s Mexican Restaurant next door.

Description: Days Inn is a solid option for weary travelers on a budget who just need a basic room to sleep in. Even in high season, rooms here are not expensive, and the style and size of the 122 rooms reflect the reasonable price. All of the rooms open onto exterior corridors, many overlooking the sheepish swimming pool and its retro patio furnishings. However basic, though, you can expect a clean room and a free breakfast in the bright lobby breakfast room.
