Description: Communiversity is the region’s most ambitious adult education program, coordinated by UC’s Department of Continuing Education. It’s where “community meets university” through noncredit classes meeting at such far-flung locations as the Cincinnati Observatory, area gardens and parks, art galleries, Music Hall, even Sharon Woods Golf Course. Hundreds of courses are offered each year in the broad categories of art, astronomy, business and career, communications and literature, computer skills, culinary arts, fitness, home and garden, language, law and finance, music, needle arts, sports adventures, studio arts and handicrafts, theater and dance, and travel.Area and national experts are recruited from the community to teach the classes.You must be 18 or older to attend Communiversity classes. Course costs range from $20 to $200, but most classes are free to senior citizens. The easiest way to get a listing of Communiversity courses is through local branch libraries, which display course brochures.
