Description: This long-established nonprofit agency provides a full scope of services for children from birth to age three who have, or are at risk for, developmental delays. In addition to direct work with some fragile little ones, the program helps their parents, teaching them how to work with children to promote optimal development. Services include parental support; speech, physical, occupational, and family therapy; home-based assistance; therapeutic programs for toddlers; a lending library; and consultation and coordination of other professional services.

Description: Nosotros helps strengthen the bonds between Moms and Dads and children from birth to age five by teaching the adults skills they need to parent successfully. Using play as a tool for learning, child-development specialists work with families individually or in small groups to help parents learn how to better care for their children physically, psychologically, and emotionally. A licensed therapist may consult with the parents and children if necessary. The city of Santa Fe provides some of the program’s funding; Santa Fe Community College offers the space and staff. Participation is free.

Description: This special babysitting service, which has been in business since 1990, provides child care for guests in hotels or vacation units and to Santa Fe residents. In the summer months they happily arrange day trips and explorations for their young clients and will put together a custom tour for your children. Sometimes you can find a sitter with this agency on short notice, but it’s best to make reservations. Fees start at $17 per hour with a four-hour minimum; group rates available.

Description: Founded in 1983, Kid Connection offers care for infants and children of all ages. It screens and requires references from all employees and provides sitters for days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight. Advance reservations are strongly recommended. Kid Connection charges for a required minimum number of hours and increases the rate depending on the number of children. They offer an annual membership for residents or frequent visitors, which lowers the hourly rate. Among their clientele are many return visitors who appreciate being able to request a sitter their child knows.
