Accommodations - St. Louis, Missouri

Accommodations

St. Louis has more than 38,000 places for you to spend the night while you’re in the metropolitan region. Accommodations range from the utmost in upscale hotels to charming bed-and-breakfast facilities to Lewis & Clark–style “roughing it” at area campgrounds. Whether you’re in the market for luxury and pampering or just need a place to rest your head at night, there’s something in every price range available. Most of the major hotel chains are represented in the area, and downtown St. Louis is in the middle of a tremendous hotel building boom. New hotels have opened around the America’s Center convention complex, and they range from economic convenience to four-star luxury.

The listings begin with downtown St. Louis properties, then proceed westward, northward, and southward from there. Hotels or chains located on the Illinois side of the river aren’t included here because they aren’t particularly convenient to St. Louis–area attractions—you’ll come out better by staying on the Missouri side of the Mississippi River. There are some Illinois bed-and-breakfasts as well as campgrounds and RV parks listed here, however. The Illinois area immediately across the river from St. Louis lends itself to these types of properties more easily than hotel chains, due to the fact that these kinds of accommodations are more likely to be found in less densely populated areas.

Almost all of the properties listed in this chapter offer wheelchair-accessible and nonsmoking rooms for their guests. Some of the hotels list their facilities as “limited wheelchair accessible,” so it’s a good idea to call ahead and make sure the property that you choose can accommodate your individual needs. Unless otherwise noted, all of these hotels, motels, and bed-and-breakfasts accept most major credit cards, and I’ve noted a few properties that allow pets.
