Description: One of the most popular tourist attractions in the Bluegrass, this Georgian-style mansion is just as endearing to visitors today as it was in 1852, the year Stephen Foster wrote what would become the official state song during a visit to his cousins, the Rowans. At My Old Kentucky Home, visitors can relive the days of the antebellum South as costumed guides escort them through the grand estate and formal gardens. The house and visitor center are open 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Thursday to Sunday during the winter period (January 2 to February 28) and daily from March 1 to December 30.
