Description: Yes, the steaks here are killers, but that’s not where the name comes from. In fact, the enormous glass windows of this sleek restaurant overlook Foe Killer Creek. But even the pretty view from the patio won’t distract you from the luscious London broil, wood-fired rack of lamb, and roasted bass. Dinner is served from 5 p.m. during the week and from 4 p.m. on the weekends. Sundays are family dinner nights, with several classic favorites (meat loaf, fried shrimp) served with a selection of vegetables family style.

Description: Don’t let the name fool you: There’s much more to this eatery and bar than just steak. Although certified Angus beef is a specialty, the menu includes coastal shrimp, salmon, trout, baby-back ribs, bourbon chicken, and pasta. The atmosphere is rustic country, with lots of cedar, stacked stone, hardwood floors, and an open-hearth fireplace. Dinner is served seven days a week; brunch is added on Sunday. Stoney River is one of the area’s most popular places to eat but does not take reservations: Don’t be surprised if there’s a two-hour wait on the weekends.

Description: Crawfish bisque is their specialty, but don’t pass up the gumbo or crawfish étouffée! Owner/chef Mark Comeaux hails from Lafayette, Louisiana, and has helped re-create a little slice of his hometown here. This is a great place for music. Listen to jazz on Thursday, blues on Friday, and Dixieland jazz on Saturday. Open 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily; closed Monday.

Description: This Cajun seafood house always draws a crowd; even at lunch, the wait can be more than 45 minutes! But it’s worth it: The portions are large, the selection vast, and the tastes delectable. The wait passes quickly at the enormous bar. In addition to Cajun favorites, there are grilled, broiled, and baked items, soups, and salads. The setting is casual and noisy (no one will notice the kids’ chatter in the large dining room). Lunch is served Monday through Friday; dinner begins at 3 p.m. on weekends. Pappadeaux does not take reservations.

The ethnic-influenced American fare includes fresh lump meat crab cakes, grilled portobello mushrooms, fresh pastas, and veal chops. Reservations are recommended. Start with an array of mezza (Lebanese tapas) with stuffed grape leaves, hummus, tabbouleh, baba ghanoush, and other small plates and move onto habra nayeh (raw beef with garlic), basterma (thin slices of spicy grilled filet), skewered meat kabobs, lamb, chicken, and fish dishes. Description: From ingredients grown on the organic Serenbe farm, about a half-mile south of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the chef prepares intensely fresh seasonal menus. The vegetables and salad greens are paired with chicken, beef, lamb, or pork for a three-course dinner, plus dessert. Vegetarian meals are also available. Guests can bring their own alcohol. Serenbe also has a B&B inn and a farmyard with pettable animals. Dinner is served Thursday through Saturday, and brunch is served on Sunday. Free parking is available on the grounds.
