70. Himalayas Indian Restaurant

City: Atlanta, GA
Category: Restaurants
Telephone: (770) 458-6557
Address: 5520 Peachtree Industrial Blvd.

Description: Don’t let the unlikely location in this older, very large strip mall deter you. Himalayas offers large portions of well-prepared traditional and tandoori-style dinners. A nice touch is the listed reminder that the food will be cooked to your spice/heat level (as it actually is in almost any Indian restaurant), from mild enough for Grandma to searing-the-eyebrows hot. The usual array of curries, vegetarian dishes, and assorted meat dishes are offered, along with exceptional naan (bread) varieties. The only downside, admittedly somewhat minor, is the taciturn waitstaff and their somewhat overstated cultural paternal attitude toward female customers. Himalayas is open for lunch and supper daily.
