Description: Meeker is a family-owned, longtime Colorado Springs music store that, like Graner, is a big supplier in the instrument rental market for bands. Description: Criterium’s store sits right on the bike path on the north end of town. The newer, airy building sports an extensive retail shop, which is especially deep in clothes. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they are happy to help new riders or visitors find the best bike trails. Criterium also offers bike rentals if you haven’t brought your own bike (BYOB). Mechanics are quick to service repairs, and an assortment of new bikes, from the ­purple-­streamered kid’s variety to the pro road bike, are on-site. Open 7 days a week.

Old Towne’s owner is vocal about the green lifestyle; there are solar panels on the roof and frequent dialogue about bike commuting rather than relying on fossil fuels. The family shop—both run by and for—is known for personal service.
