Description: Built to resemble a Pueblo Indian home, this iconic store is a bit like walking into the past. A little kitschy, but it feels appropriate.For souvenir hunters, this is pretty close to a gold mine. The trading post carries almost any item you can think of with the name “Colorado” imprinted on it, T-shirts, wind chimes, aspen leaf jewelry and art, Minnetonka moccasins, and about 38,000 other choices. The post also carries art from Colorado artists, American Indian jewelry, baskets, sand painting, Navajo rugs, and Pueblo pottery.An outside cafe specializes in buffalo burgers, which are good but pale in comparison to the amazing view of the rocks in the park. Description: It’s hard to know how to classify Rich Designs, other than to say this longtime Colorado Springs gallery/florist/interior design/home furnishings/gift boutique is one of the town’s true gems. The store is more than 6,000 square feet of unusual, beautiful, eclectic goods painstakingly arranged in various home tableaus. This is not the art of shopping, this is shopping as art. The Holiday Spectacular Open House, usually every November, is not to be missed. They also hold an Art of Living event in September, benefitting the local hospice. Open Tues through Sat.
