2. Bartlett Lake

City: Scottsdale, AZ
Category: Parks & Recreation
Telephone: (602) 316-3378
Address: 20808 E. Bartlett Dam Rd.
Insider Pick:

Description: As the closest lake to Scottsdale, Bartlett Lake steals boaters and wakeboard fans from some of the more crowded Valley water sport hubs. The boatable surface is less than 2,900 acres, which is still more than Saguaro and Canyon lakes combined. Parts of Bartlett Lake appear to be surrounded by high cliffs, almost like boating through a saguaro-studded canyon. It’s a gorgeous spot to relax in a boat while fishing or sipping a cocktail. However, it is a major draw for young people who like to go fast and flip tricks on the open water. The marina is located about 50 miles from downtown Phoenix. There are camping and fishing as well.
