The ironic part being that Democrats like Biden were pushing for more police funding while people continue to paint them all with the same brush.

So, camp Walmart has returned in spades since the Winco/Home Depot camp was cleaned up.
Walmart closed for a day, because so many people had removed the security "spiders" from stolen goods and flushed them down the toilet that the sewer clogged up and flooded the bathrooms and part of the store with raw sewage.

I don't think we will lose many stores, we simply have so much Canadian shopper traffic I think it bouys them up from the losses of theft to the homeless camps. It's so bad many stores don't have any shopping carts left they are all in the homeless camps.

Bellingham Safeway is hurting.
Maybe one cashier line is ever open and the prices are easily 50% higher than Haggens, if you can find it. The meats are literally rotting in the shelves.

Bellingham Safeway is easily one of the most expensive markets and is always very short on staff and short on product. I think often the product is there, but there is no one to put it on the shelves.
We placed an online order, were told it was ready. When we got there only a fraction of it had been pulled and was mixed in with someone else's order. There was a deli special for fried chicken and rolls, and a deal on steaks but all the chicken and steaks were gone. I went back to the meat counter area to try to find something and the meat counter was mostly empty and stunk. One person was running the entire curbside pickup they said the rest of the entire shift for pulling grocery orders was a no show. Ended up picking out some of our stuff, and they credited the cost back and let us just have it(only $25 worth out of a $200 order, but decent of them anyway).
The residents and gov't of Bellingham are starting to see that if you want to be waited on, have groceries on the shelves, be cared for in the hospital, have your oil changed, or your car repaired, that those workers need an affordable (and safe-see news on Tullwood Apt's) place to live. There was an article released on another "venue" over the weekend that estimated we'd need 2000 new units a year for 5 years just to catch up with population growth. Unfortunately, there is no quick fix, and the "empty middle" has hit critical stage.

Those areas weren't any different under his predecessor. Vote him back into office, and you'll see. However, most people living in those places remember full well.
