Only about 6 weeks later than normal for cooler night temps of the low 50-high 40s, and the wet.
Fall foliage in our area went from green to crispy brown. Skipped the red stage.

Of course Russia deals with it! Did you think only the US has wildfires? Much of Siberia is experiencing fires year-round, due to the methane gas formerly trapped in the permafrost underground now escaping into the atmosphere as the permafrost melts. It ignites the trees in the vast taiga (forest). During El Nino years, the coastal forests in the Russian Far East burn out of control as well, like Australia's wildfires a few years ago.

This is a global phenomenon we're living through.

As Ruth said, these are global cycles associated with global warming and/or cooling (depending on what geological era you're talking about). The planet is warming, so we will see lots of fires, and over a timespan that may or may not be relevant to humans, we will see the old larch forests in Siberia replaced with more temperate forests. Same with the firs, spruce (etc.) of the northern Alaskan and Canadian forests.

You're putting words in my mouth. I didn't say anything about geological cycles.

In any case. the effects of warming are worldwide. Russia has it the worst of any northern country, because it's so vast, and it has more permafrost per a comparable quantity of acreage. Canada, I'm told, isn't experiencing the problem of methane setting fire to forests, that Russia's dealing with.
