It looks as though you live in Seattle, that’s a couple hours apart from my area and the distance is enough to make a difference. Seattle often has different weather. Agreed, there are a few sunny days during the rainy season, but not many, at least not where I live and last couple of years have gone from gloomy to hot very fast. I’d originally hoped to move further north to King county, but with spouse hating the rain and gloom and very hot summers plus having to stay inside because of the smoke filled air, was the turning point.

Just an observation, but I've noticed that as the years have passed the seasons seem to change more abruptly. It can be pretty hot and dry...and smoky through mid-late September, and then the clouds and rain turn on and seemingly don't stop until winter time when a northern wind clears everything out and it gets really cold.
From the Tacoma area on southward, one technically moves more inland and the climate does change, you can see it when traveling on I-5 even by the type of plants the grow in the median.

Right at the moment, a gigantic fan to blow the smoke away.

Or better yet, enough rain to put the fires out.

I sure wish there was a way to get rid of the wildfire smoke that is plaguing our region, that was not the norm until several years ago.
