The point is the OP says Pierce County is supplementing King County which is not remotely true. King County is the one paying far more into the state (33 other counties to the tune of $3 BILLION a year) than King County gets back. It's not even close.

NOPE. Never said that. Not once.

You, however, stated a few times that King County supports Pierce. I merely pointed out the facts of how our state revenue is collected and distributed which invalidates your assertion.

I'm currently working with a few different DOR auditors to tie up Revenue audits started pre-COVID. This King County funds the state is an amusing discussion with them lol

WRONG. Below is what you wrote. Not only did you say Pierce would be "funding Seattle and King Counties (sic) socialist...", you quoted a Republican saying Pierce constituents don't believe light rail will benefit them. I would applaud them removing all connection to Pierce and seeing how their property values go.

Looks like we will be funding Seattle and King Counties socialist crap for a while. Vote accordingly in a few weeks, this is solely on Inslee, King Co, and that deceitful AG who can't defend the people for fear of getting his socialist buddies riled up.
I also find it amusing that you lament so called socialism while Pierce County benefits from said socialism, since King County is the one paying $3 billion dollars more than they receive. Pierce County is a taker in the state to the tune of $500 million a year.

BWAHAHAHHAH!!!

Keep trying- everyone can see you are not telling the truth. My OP is in obvious reference to the court rejection of the $30 car tabs and the fact that that meant we would continue to fund RTA which Pierce voted against.

I never said Pierce funded King County. I said Pierce is being forced to fund the RTA tab tax which is a King County money grab.

The Seattle Times opinion piece is not a factual source, sweetie.

Living in California, you might not realize that even the Eastside would rather keep the $3 billion they contribute to the state than send a half a billion to Pierce County. And it's not like they benefit when rail is extended to Tacoma. It's the "ever-aggrieved Pierce County" that benefits there.

"Where did the money go? Ironically the ever-aggrieved Pierce County is the No. 1 recipient, getting $508 million more than it gave in state taxes."

The Seattle Times opinion piece is not a reliable or factual source.

The Seattle Times is reporting that King County pays $3 Billion MORE than it receives, while counties like Pierce pay $500 million LESS.

Pierce only pays $5B out of $28 Billion and since you're leaving, you may not see it but ST3 will definitely benefit Pierce.

What you said AND I QUOTED was that Pierce County would be funding King County's "Socialist crap" referring to ST3.

Since Pierce is a taker county, paying a half a billion less than it receives every year, they aren't funding anything.

Get Pierce to remove themselves from regional transit before you leave. No one is going to miss them.

Is the OFM? Or are they an "opinion piece" too?

"Sent out by state Sen. Reuven Carlyle, D-Seattle, it’s a fresh analysis, from the state Office of Financial Management (OFM), of how government revenues and expenditures are shared among Washington’s 39 counties.

Which counties get more in state spending than they pay in taxes? And which are net “donors” of tax money to the entire state system (which means schools, colleges, prisons, welfare payments and other state government functions).

Punch line: The entire state is mooching off King County, not the other way around."

https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle...eattles-money/

It must be very difficult to accept that Pierce County is a beneficiary of such socialism.

But using your argument from yesterday, King County doesn't get the money, it's Sound Transit. The money is collected by Sound Transit via the DOL and spent by Sound Transit. If you can separate King County from state taxes, then you can do the same here.
