We were just planing to move to Blaine WA when I first posted on this forum, had purchased a lot and were planning to build. It took a while, I moved in April 2015, the home moved in June 2015 and it took almost another two years to overcome a few hurdles but we finally commenced building a few weeks ago.

My original idea was to build a home (on this level lot) with a very large basement to accommodate two bowling lanes since I'm a little crazy about bowling and a few other hobbies. Had to drop the basement idea due to a high water table; I considered building a basement on grade but would have had code and engineering issues hence dropped the idea. I now bowl across the border in BC, which is like five minutes away.

I architected the home, a little different than most, lots of input from my wife. A few pics below of what it will look like and current build state. Amazing views of Drayton Harbor and mountain views to the north and Mt Baker to the East/South East. I angled the east end of the home to face Mt Baker while also providing a better view of Drayton Harbor to the north.

Two double garages? Seems you could have made one of those into a couple of bowling lanes, stretching to the back of the house.

Thats funny. In fact the two doubles are in the front and a third double is on the side where I'll have a car lift.

seems like a rather ultimate home not to mention the land. I wouldn't dare ask the price tag of that combo. Looks like privacy and security are indeed measures you've taken and accomplished nicely. Well done indeed.

Why is the metal fence only around the front?

The metal fence in the front and left is there to match the 20' automatic gates even though I'm really only required to install a split rail fence around the build envelop.
