Well win the lottery and move to Freemont in the summer and Western Scotland in the winter. SW Florida has gotten 75% more ghetto since 2014.

Our house with 2.5 acres is not worth much more than 2014 about 200K if we could get someone to come and give us an offer.

We love the weather up there Rain No Problem a little Snow No problem.
Can anyone please tell me about the area Long Beach and Ilwaco? houses, crime, medical stuff hospitals and like.
Astoria in Oregon looks like the biggest town close by.

Thank you and have a safe New Year
Me the wife and our 9 year old Lab who loves the water.

Long Beach is awesome but, its a tourist trap. You got all sorts of people going there for the 4th of July. I personally wouldn't wanna move there myself. I don't have any hate or negative thing to say about Long Beach. It's just not the town for me. I prefer the mountains over the beach

Caution... Don't end up in the same mess.... (Low(er) property value / i.e. ilwaco, long beach / Gray's Harbor area)

Western Scotland sounds plenty chilly for winter.

Plan C?

I have several friends who have Long Beach, WA area homes.
It doesn't do much for me. We often find ourselves commuting to OR coast, when spending time in Long Beach.

One of my friends just sold her house in Silicon Valley.
Her family is moving into her moms house in Florida until they buy a house.
There are lots of people like her in California leaving for Florida.

2-1/2 acres for about 200k?
Prices like that are a pensioners dream.
I don’t think you’ll have much trouble selling you place.
You might even get multiple bids in this market.

Good luck to you.

Interesting area. Not noted for being a wealthy area, though some have built big. Generally the cool cloudy climate that is expected on the WA coast. If you like a beach environment with generally awful weather., go for it!
