I’m looking at some jobs near Santa Barbara and Ventura, but am a little concerned I will have trouble socially. I’m in my late twenties and single, and would like an area where I can meet people in similar situations, not just families and college students. I’m open to commuting 30-45 minutes if that is helpful. Are there any area that seem like they would be a fit? Thank you!!!

My coworker is in your age group and he's getting more tail than you can shake a stick at.

Seriously, though, there's tons of social activity for late-20-somethings, guys and dolls. I mean, for the size of cities in the area, at least. Not much of a club/dance scene, but the craft brewery, artsy, outdoorsy, surfer, hiking, biking, escape room, comedy club, crowd is pretty good-sized. Families are kind of on the out near the coast due to the COL for housing big enough for multiple persons + kids. If you are of an age and disposition to live in a small shared rental (roommates, or somebody's back house), then there's a big crowd of people like you.

Meeting people for dating or social groups is all done online anyway. Check Meetup.com and see which city has the most activities you're interested in.

Ventura has a good nightlife scene, I'm told. Like @nightlysparrow said, Meetup.com is the place to go.
