Planning to move to Vancouver. I fell in love with a home in the lacamus view neighborhood. Husband concerned that there are no grocery stores, amenities one could walk to.

Is he wrong? Where does one shop?

It is car-centric. You either drive to 192nd and 164th in East Vancouver or Mill Plain where there are at least a dozen grocery stories from basic (Wal-Mart, WinCo, Safeway, Fred Meyer) to fancy (New Seasons, Chucks, Trader Joes) etc. Plus there is a Costco 5 min away and in downtown Camas another Safeway. From Lacamas View neighborhood they are all probably within 5-10 min drive.

You can do a lot of walking in that area on sidewalks and various city trails but it will all be fitness walking, not walking to actual places to spend money.

If you want Walkable in Clark County where you can do all your shopping and dining on foot you basically have two choices: Downtown Camas, or Downtown/Uptown Vancouver. That is it.

You could also find a place adjacent to 192nd or 164th and be able to walk to some things, but the destinations are all car-centric destinations.
