Greetings
So has any of the previous posters moved forward with building any earthbag buildings? I am currently looking at some land near Cedar City to build a small earthbag dwelling at. Just wanted to get more information and people’s experience with Zoning or Code Enforcement. Thanks

Default Looks like I'm late getting in to this discussion

I am purchasing land in Iron County, around GPS coordinates: 37.8180 -113.8824

The first issue I have with the property is Google Earth map shows 45 feet of vegetation between the dirt road and my property. How difficult will it be to get the vegetation removed? Do it myself or ?

Anyone do a soil sample test in the Garden Valley Ranchos area?

Any thoughts on water rights, well digging?

Whose property is the vegetation on? You need their permission to do anything. Seems like you should investigate water, drilling, etc. with the county before you buy!

The land is the road, owned by Iron County. I.C. code states the road must be 66 feet wide, which it was, but has since been reclaimed by nature.

This has been an interesting learning experience. Nothing like this is taught in any school. Water, drilling, minerals, soil rehabilitation, building codes... It's a long list. Have been in contact with many people on how to deal with removing salt from the soil and salt tolerant plants that will grow in the Escalante desert.

I too have property in beryl near 5200 n and 800e. I want to build an earthbag home. Do I need permits from the county? My land is on county land outside of city limits but it's marked as residential property.

Also has anyone else built their earthbag homes yet?
