A lot of that “domestic growth” is people moving to the suburbs for better schools and/or better public services

And in some cases of net domestic loss (Travis) more affordable housing.

The big four cities are continuing to outpace the the rest of Texas. Dallas and Houston are experiencing very impressive growth.

How accurate are these estimates. Laredo seems to be booming the last few years with all the nearshoring moving to Northern Mexico. Lots of Industrial development happening in the city with lots of Infrastructure spending that are creating jobs. Maybe it's just my anecdotal observation but the numbers don't jive.

102 of 254 counties lost population, my guess is 90% are poor red counties and the rest are blue border counties.
