I'm a native Tennessean, but have lived in Florida for over a decade. Did all I could to get out of that situation and came back here. Now, it's pretty much the same here as it was in Orlando 3 years ago. The traffic, the mindless construction, the rude people, etc. Sorry to say it, but it's true. My home state is being destroyed - by people looking to get out of where they are from but make TN just like it was where they left.

Unfortunately, I am disabled - so I won't be taking a job from the native Tennessee folks. I am hoping and praying to move to Tennessee
in the next 6 months or so. I hate the thought that Tennessee might lose it's southern charm because of too many interlopers. I should have moved there many years ago!

Its like that too in Georgia but mainly Florida tags. You cant leave the house or go five minutes without seeing a bunch of Florida tags or florida emblems on peoples shirts or cars. Personaly I dont like 90 percent of the Floridians I meet. Their usually snobby and love to brag about Florida and how great their teams and everything else is. I can tell a person whos from Florida without even seeing their car tags. They come here and want everything they left behind..I personally wish they would stay the heck in Florida.

Oh I agree with you Baby Firefly! People used to make fun of me so bad for being from Middle Tennessee and now they are moving here in droves.

Lily, I am in the Nashville area. Franklin/Spring Hill to be exact. I am just appalled at all the building and the congestion here. And all my neighbors are from NJ, FL and CA. It's very odd to be back here and not really recognize the place anymore.

But there are parts that are still nice. Murfreesboro is booming but people seem to be friendly there and not snobby.

I would recommend Chattanooga wholeheartedly if you can find a job there. Right now, it's not "hip" and people arent moving there as much. It's a beautiful area with nice people. But the job market is pretty bad and that's why I am not there. Huntsville, AL is nice but it's full of transplants as well.

That is so sad. I am looking into Greenesville or perhaps Marysville. Maybe I can avoid some of the congestion and bad attitude since I won't have to be in a large city for a job.
