We're looking at moving back to North Carolina in a couple of years. Our thought was "next door, but cheaper!" Not really. Plus, 30 years in NC, not a problem with crime. Four years in TN and we've suffered three instances of property crime, amounting to over $7K out of our pocket. Police told us "here's an incident number from the report I'll file. Turn it into your insurance." Property crime to support substance addiction is a problem.

My sister in NC says drug-related crime is outrageous. She is in Wilmington. My former next door neighbor in Greensboro is crying to move back here. So I guess the pot is always greener.
