Something at the end of this article caught my attention:

The Spencer Board of Aldermen meets Thursday to discuss the future of its water system. The city has formally requested for the Warren County Utility District to take over operations. Business starts at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

You might want to see what happens at that meeting. I haven't been following the water situation in Spencer/Van Buren County, but apparently it's not been good. It's such a small and thoroughly rural county, I guess they just don't have the money to fix whatever problems exist. So it looks like they've given up and are asking the larger county immediately to the west to take over Van Buren's water system.

But yeah as others have suggested, unless you have a well on your property, you might want to consider investing somewhere besides Van Buren County at least until all this is settled. Who knows how long that will take.

I don’t really know what you’re asking. I don’t see anything harsh about what I said. I don’t see how a buyer profile has anything to do with whether water quality is good or bad?

Thank you everyone for all the suggestions. We are staying clear of the county as suggested.
