Again, it is located on the city's outer East Side and crosses the border into the town of DeWitt:

Close to big box shopping and it is in more of a outer city/suburban setting, with a diverse population in the nearby residential areas that is largely middle class(particularly black(especially the Salt Springs neighborhood, has the city's second oldest historically black church known for having a more middle class membership(Bethany Baptist) and Jewish(DeWitt and some still in the city, a JCC is nearby in DeWitt) populations, among others).

A nearby bus line you could take to Downtown or by University Hill:

So, just a possible option that people may not know about in the area, as SU tends to dominate the conversation in terms of area colleges and universities, as well as knowing what is around the campus community.
Just to add and as mentioned above, it is an institution that may be looking to go Division 1 in Athletics. So, if it makes the jump from Division 2, that may be another place to consider in the future for that type of athlete. It is actually known for its Lacrosse(Men's and Women's) and Baseball programs. Men's Lacrosse has won multiple D2 National Championships, with the Women winning in 2018. When Baseball was D1, it made it to the NCAA playoffs multiple times(1989, 2003, 2004, 2007 as MAAC Champs) and almost made it to Omaha(College World Series) in 1989 losing to Arkansas by a run in a Regional Final. MLB pitchers Jim Deshaies and Tom Browning both played there when it was a D2 program in the 1980's. Men's Basketball upset Syracuse in an exhibition game in 2009 during a season that if Syracuse was healthy, likely would have won the D1 title. It had some good teams under Jim Beilein in the 1980's and early 1990's and under his son recently as well. So, it is a sports program with a good history in some sports.
Academically, its Business school is good. Good school for Veterans as well.
