Camillus Mall has really changed. It used to be an enclosed mall, now its a strip mall called Camillus Commons....

Pictures

Benderson Development did a great job of redeveloping the property IMO. It sat empty for years, glad its back on the tax rolls....

Fairmount Fair is undergoing a transformation as we speak.....pictures of the the Fairmount Fair shopping center....

Now Camillus residents don't need to travel all the way to the Town of Clay to shop at a Target etc.

Starlight Estates looks like a nice new housing development. Many patio homes along with a few single family homes. Saw a couple license plates from out-of-state in this neighborhood. One was with a moving van! Some people get excited about sports, I get excited when I see outsiders moving into our community.

A few pictures of the main commercial areas in Camillus....

Picture of the 1970s and 80s built neighborhood in Camillus from the Interstate...

A picture of a neighborhood built over 70 years ago in Camillus from the highway....

Default Great photo tour

Bella,

Beautiful, Oh my, such a "great" Photo Tour.I love the pictures of the town display with your words speaking of its progress along with future "hope" of/for the city.

The homes, are fantastic! very beautiful design to them, very cozy feel. imo
Thanks for the time and effort spent and sharing a slice of your state with us.

So many CD member give really nice photo tours, we are very lucky to have nice people like yourself and others who take time from their life to expose the greatness of which they live.

Bella, the second run of pictures, how much would you say the homes sell for?

You're welcome. If anyone was wondering, that farm in the picture above will always be farmland. Camillus and Onondaga have set aside acres of farmland that is "saved" from new suburban neighborhoods.

Found some stats on Camillus....

Population Growth in the Town of Camilllus

1980 ~ 24,333
1990 ~ 23,625
2000 ~ 23,152
2005 estimate ~ 23,188

As you can seee, Camillus peaked in population in 1980 and has remained stagnant in population since.
source: Greater Syracuse Economic Growth Council Resource Center (http://www.syracusecentral.com/market_data/demographics.htm - broken link)

Since the year 2000, Camillus has only had about 547 new single family homes built.

gandalf222, I hope you still visit the forums. I'm glad you asked me to take more Camillus pictures. I got to see areas I've never seen before and it makes me appreciate the town more.
