Oh man I've been enjoying having the whole week off of work. I just got a new puppy this past weekend, so I took Mon, Tues, and Weds off since I already get Thurs and Fri... working on training and getting all the dogs used to each other. I'm definitely going to need this entire week, that's for sure!
Just noticed that the new Cafe Kubal has opened in the old Dey Brother's building on Salina & Jefferson.
I'll have to stop in later this week. Good luck to them!
Cafe Kubal has done a GREAT job with the space. It has a very elegant look but a casual feel. Upscale to be sure and their choice to go with all manual pourover for the brewed coffee is a good one. I hope they are very successful early on in that location although my hunch is that it will develop slow and steady - in parallel with the inevitable renaissance of the 300 block of South Salina.
I was surprised to hear this today, especially since there have been numerous businesses opening in the Village. I wonder if Village Burger had anything to do with Burger King closing. I'm willing to bet alot of people that used to go to BK have started going to VB since the burgers are so good!

Good point, as you could see the difference when driving by the parking lots of both at times.
