I drive a Forrester, I'm not a lesbian, but I am a liberal about most political things. I have noticed over the years that Forrester owners tend to be very cool people. There is nothing particularly liberal about the car itself. It is extremely practical (hard to find a good station wagon these days) and has served me very well (100,000 miles/9 years old and still going strong). I plan to drive it for another 100K miles.
In fact, both my brothers also drive Forresters. We love the capacity, reliability, and for one brother and me, excellent driving in the snow!
One day we will recognize that nothing good comes from trying to lump people into one of two categories. There is simply no benefit to the practice, and it creates more problems than it solves.
Oh, just chill out and enjoy the fun
I am an old man and drive an old truck that's more suited for teenagers, specially girls (I bought it from one). But that does not bother me.
Fom my observation I notice a good number of liberals in New England tend to drive Subaru, Prius, and Volvo. I don't have a dog in the fight since I don't have any political leanings. Just a simple observation.
I'm a guy and have a 2004 Forester XS that almost seems "retro" now compared to the new ones they sell. I love the way it drives in severe winter weather conditions and the superior handling and cornering for the price I paid for it. Great safety and great overall value. I am a middle of the road Independent voter.
So....because you get 8ish more MPG than a 4-Runner or an F-150 they are Gas Guzzlers (FYI the Gas Guzzler classification doesn't LEGALLY apply to trucks/SUVs/Vans)?
I get 26 mpg on my forester, F-150s are lucky to get 18. And yeah, every extra mile counts when I'm paying $3:50 a gallon.
Maybe it's kind of in the same category as "White guys and Chevy trucks." I do think many makes and models do appeal to different types of people but of course you can't put a label on everyone. Many Senior Citizens drive Buicks and Avalons, but so do some younger people but I bet if a study were done it would be more older owners than young.
When you see a 88 Impala with sparkle paint and 26" rims do you think of a 75 year old woman? If so your warped. Cars are like anything a person owns and it reflects their lifestyle.
I am a Subaru forester owner as of last april. im a tea party conservative and im half lesbian.
So . . . I take this to mean either that you're a bi-sexual woman, or you're a man who shares, in common with lesbians, an attraction to women.
As to the OP's question, the Subaru owners that I know are liberal, and I don't know any conservatives who drive one. So yes, in my mind, Subaru = liberal car. Being that I'm conservative, I will admit that this is a turn-off for me. Yeah, I know, it's kind of silly to shun a car based on the political leanings of people who drive it. So, in fairness to Subaru, I will admit that I've never driven one and thus have no idea if I would like it or not. But if you want to get me in one -- or any other brand of car -- you'll first have to pry my cold, dead hands from my Toyota's steering wheel!
I love my Subaru. It handles well, rarely has mechanical issues, and never gets stuck in mud or snow. I wasn't aware of any owner stereotype until my girlfriend drove it, loved it, and then jokingly asked me if liking a Subaru meant that she wasn't allowed to shave her legs anymore. We joke that we are fulfilling the stereotype when we take it off road with our dogs to go camping, and say that the dealership is going to take it back when packing the trunk with shotguns and ammo for skeet shooting.

Interesting...according to my dash I am getting 21MPG...
