I am looking to move and want a home out away from cities. I have searched real estate listings and found houses that are interesting (old or historic)... A couple of the houses were in Andrews, but I have read many negative comments about Andrews,SC from another site. Anyone wish to comment about Andrews?

In Marion, I have seen a real estate listing that I would like to check out. Any comments about Marion??

I currently reside in a large metropolitan area in Florida. I have had many years of small town living in Massachusetts. Thank you.

Gregs,
What is it that interests you in those towns - other than low real estate prices?

My question too?.

There's not alot to offer from either one and both are about the same, which is...not much. I guess it depends on what you're looking for.

To be honest, there isn't much to either one of those towns.

I would suggest Georgetown, as it is a bit larger and has a certain coastal small town charm. It's right next to Andrews.

I would recommend Georgetown too but wouldn't say it is right next to Andrews... its a good 25 minutes away. For another 25 minutes or so you can be in Charleston or Myrtle Beach.

If you are looking to stay away from the coast, consider Manning or Conway.

I've only driven from Andrews to Georgetown once (a few years ago), and I thought I pretty much remembered it being next door. Oh well, I do know that it was less than a 30 minute drive.

When you live in these small rural towns a 30 mile trip "to town" doesn't seem very far.

Manning?? Kingstree has a lot going on than Manning, if you would like to be near the coast.

Marion would be my choice over Andrews as I believe it has been more proactive in preservation efforts in the downtown area.
