Where exactly did this happen? It's apparently not directly on the ocean shore.

As a saltwater fisherman I really don't find this surprising. If anything it's rare that they were able to SEE it. But I think it's not unusual for them to be inshore. We just don't see them. I've caught baby Octopus and Squid the size of a Half Dollar in the net as far as 10 miles up the river from the harbor area.

It was probably at Cherry Grove Point where House Creek enters the ocean or down near Little River.

Interesting.. how large do you think it was? I have seen videos of fisherman and divers handling these animals. I have been told they have a powerful parrot like beak that they use to crack open crab shells. I am surprised that anyone would mess with them outside of a sushi bar with weaponry like that but... they do.
