I wonder how the difference in population between the prior estimate and the actual count for the state will be divvied up among our cities and metros.
Better to not hurt your brain thinking about it. Metros will be released in a few months.

Bama was undercounted by ~100K and SC was overcounted by ~100K.
The under counter Alabama by 120,000 people.... how do you miss a whole city worth of people?
wow.. that is pretty impressive.. in a negative way. I am sure many of their cities like Birmingham, Mobile, and Montgomery are livid as they battle declining numbers as I am sure some of these undercounted persons live in urban areas.
I guess the release date for 2020 county and MSA populations has been postponed. The Census Bureau’s release date chart says today, but it says dates are subject to change.

They are estimates, not actuals. And it's been stated that many of the estimates are off to widely off, and dont match up with the census state numbers. You have to wait until the summer to get the official census count, which still may not be 100%, but at least its not an estimate.
From what I was able to make out though, Charleston is estimated at 819K, Spartanburg 326K, Greenville 932K, Columbia 847K, Myrtle Beach 514K, Hilton Head 227K. I know I typically post a full numbers breakdown, but I'm not going to bother right now if theyre off by as much as people are saying. We can wait a few more months.

Looks like we made our posts at the same time, but I'm gonna stress again, these numbers are off, and considering SC didn't hit 5.2 million as it was estimated too, these will probably end up lower when its said and done.
Where and by how much, I dont know. We'll see.
