Inlet Crossings is a retail center that will locate at the southwest corner of United States Highway 17 Bypass South and Tournament Boulevard in unincorporated Murrells Inlet, Georgetown County, South Carolina. It will be anchored by a Walmart Neighborhood Market store. Plans for Inlet Crossings have existed since 2014.
Walmart announced last week it is closing stores globally including all Express stores and would focus on opening Neighborhood Market stores. I wonder if the Neighborhood Market at Inlet Crossings will see construction and an opening in 2016.
It's been a few days but the last time I drove past, construction was underway hot and heavy. It seems that Walmart's goal is to be able to drive from one end of Myrtle Beach to the other without ever losing sight of one of their stores. We are fast becoming the Walmart capital of the world. This property was previously occupied by Suck Bang Blow 4-Corners, a far more interesting business than WallyWorld.
Correction: Inlet Crossings will be in Horry County, not in Georgetown County. The Murrells Inlet zip code covers areas of Georgetown and Horry counties.
