Oakland Beach is a great little up and coming neighborhood. We usually visit Iggy’s for take out and hang out down by the water. Never see anything that would cause people to be afraid to visit the area.

One other locations in this thread is Gaspee Point and another Apponaug which both are not Oakland Beach locations.

If that's your thing JB, good for you.

Maybe you can help pick up some of the discarded nips next time you are in the area.

Discarded nipples?? What’s wrong with Oakland Beach?

That is correct. Apponaug is mainly where the break-ins occurred.

A lot of people swear by the clam cakes and chowder at Iggy's. Clam cakes aren't my thing. The one time I went to Iggy's I got an order of fried clams. Worst fried clams I've ever had. Not edible. Just disgusting. Threw them away after eating a few. I'll never go back.

My buddy tells me the Iggy's in Narragansett is much better than the Warwick location. I'm not interested.

If I want fried clams, I go to Flo's (Portsmouth location). If I want fish, I go to Amaral's. If I want fried scallops, I go to Quito's.

Nips are miniature size bottles of alcohol.

I don't think they're banned anywhere in RI, but 6 places in MA have banned them:

Chelsea
Falmouth
Mashpee
Newton
New Bedford (the ban starts this summer; liquor stores were given time to deplete their stock)
Wareham

Littering is a real problem with nips. The empty little bottles are everywhere.

From what I understand, Fireball is the brand of choice in RI.

Always go to Oakland Beach location for clam cakes but never seen the beach parking lot littered with liquor bottles like in your picture but if you took that picture there then I believe you.
