If you need a booster, get Novavax. It's made using more traditional methods for vaccine development vs mRNA vaccines. Since the inactivated virus is used, the body develops a more robust response vs mRNA vaccines, which tune the immune system only to very specific protein sequences in the virus.
I just got another vaccine, last one being Oct. 28 and I am over 65 as per the CDC. I do not want to start a discussion of vaccine good/bad, but wonder how many posters over 65 will get this new one.
Could've made that a poll question. Cuts down considerably on arguing!
What happened after a man got 217 coronavirus shots
Nothing.
The man’s “hypervaccination” did not result in any side effects, it also did not significantly improve his immune response.
The researchers did not find any indication for a weaker immune response, rather the contrary.
They also did not detect any fatigue in these cells, which they said were just as effective as those of people who had received a typical number of coronavirus shots.
Antibodies against the coronavirus “increased significantly as a result.”
They said that they “do not endorse hypervaccination as a strategy to enhance adaptive immunity.”
In total, the man got eight vaccine formulations, including mRNA vaccines from Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna, a vector-based vaccine from Johnson & Johnson and a recombinant-protein vaccine from Sanofi.
NOTE:
While very interesting from a scientific perspective, individual case studies like this must always be taken with a grain of salt. Public health recommendations, which are based on very large, randomized control trials, are what people should look to for guidance, she added.
I just got a Covid booster, after putting it off and deciding against it. At my last checkup, my doctor was very much in favor of the Covid, the RSV, and the shingles vaccine. Ok, she went to medical school and I didn’t. Shingles vaccine is still to be determined.
You really should get the shingles shot. From what people who've suffered through it have said, it's a horrific illness. I was overjoyed to learn of a shot for it. Really. After the stories I've heard from those who had it. The vaccine may make you feel kind of sick for a day or two but it's so worth it.
I didn't get a covid shot this year. When I tried in the fall they kept saying it wasn't available yet. I gave up and kind of forgot all about it. Now with spring coming and people not indoors so much passing it around, I don't know if I'll bother.

I'll second getting the shingles vaccine. When I worked in the tire business, the store owner got shingles and he was out for more than a month. When he came back he said that it was a truly horrible experience.
My late mother got it when she was in her late 80s and she said that she had days when she just wanted to die.
My wife and I both got vaccinated as no way we want to go through a bout of shingles if we can help it.
