Note: Del Web Sun City communies are different than Del Webb communities. As I understand it, Sun City designates that there is a golf course.
Del Webb is constructed and owned by Pulte. I assume that's true if Sun City as well, but I'm not positive.
True. After I posted I thought I should have differentiated them. Thanks for doing it.
For example, the Del Webb across the street from my Sun City does not have the golf courses or the public restaurant but it does have a small fitness center, a outdoor pool, bocce, and clubs and groups. It's much smaller than the two Sun Cities here. Each SC has the fitness center, pools (indoor and outdoor), golf, parks, open space, and walking trails plus other amenities such as public restaurants.
Both SCs are considerably bigger than the DW. The DW has 704 homes, one SC has 3110 homes, and the other SC, which is 10 miles away, has 6723 homes.
Del Webb was the builder until roughly the early 2000s. My SC house, for example, was completed in early 1999 and was in the last group to be completed prior to Pulte taking over. The SC 10 miles away overlapped as the first of their homes were completed during the Del Webb period with Pulte taking over within a short time. Contractors and realtors have both told me that the homes built during the Del Webb era are superior in construction quality over the ones Pulte built.

We'll be visiting the Villages via an Air B&B shortly. Just want to get the "lay of the land" and then we can do the lifestyle visit next year if we're interested.
We're also planning to visit On Top of the World in Ocala while we're in town on this upcoming trip.

That sounds like fun. We enjoyed our rather whirlwind tour of The Villages. There was so much to see and so much ground to cover that we really didn't get a chance to check out any of the restaurants/bars.
We got a quick, light breakfast in Brownwood Square, at an ice cream parlor of all places. We went in there to grab coffee before our bus tour of the new area and saw that they had breakfast items, too. It was fast and easy.
We haven't seen On Top of the World but have heard that is nice.
