I was really close with my grandgirl when she was little and boy when they grow, things have changed...enjoy it now for sure.

We live two miles away. They were here for Easter brunch and after they left and we did a few chores around the house, DH and I took a long walk on the beach together to talk and catch up with each other.

I had the grandkids earlier this week for spring break and DH took off a couple of days from work to spend with us. We spent the day at the aquarium, and the Nina and Pinta replica ships were in town for a few days. We skipped the big trucks and Easter egg drop they went to yesterday with their parents. It’s a good life for us.

Ohhh Grandkids, little darlings when pre teen, then...

We live 800 miles away, if we see them once or twice a year, that works.

Growing up till 13 my grandparents lived 10 minutes away. We saw my grandma all the time and my grandpa probably weekly. My grandparents would go to FL for 3 months in the winter but my grandma missed my mom and I so much she would come home every 3 weeks for a week.
When my grandma passed my grandpa moved to FL and we barely saw him

I was very close with my grandma and feel so thankful I saw her often and she felt the same. I especially feel this way since she died when I was so young. My grandpa could of cared less about me so when he moved away he didn't seem to care they he didn't see me or his other family much.

6-8 hours away but we will move closer to the kids in retirement . We had to move here because my husband could not find a job closer to our kids and grandkids and what jobs he could find were not paying anything and would not make a house payment much less utilities . I don't know how folks live there . My kids have their own businesses and that is a good thing . we see them once a year and it is okay .
