There isnt a person on earth who really believes in 'atheism' ; it just requires too much faith and denial. But people do have enough pride to play the charade , ill say that. Not wanting a personal designer creator to exist for a personal cosmos so one can enjoy being unencumbered for the way he/she wants to live thier life , is the greatest example of self deciet imaginable. This is what the stuff of irrational minds are made of :

1. The precision of over 150 life enabling Physics Constants to our cosmos so earth can be here so we can be here...'just happened' haphazardly from a big explosion.

2. Non intelligent materials and chemicals like rocks, dirt, etc... gave way to an accidental soup of 'thriving chemicals' that burped forth a small pond scum protozoa.

3. This piece of pond scum magically graduated to a 206 bone human being having an anatomical system of over 60 major independent systems ALL working collaboratively ... by complete accident mind you and for 'no good reason' .

4. The world around us looks like a compilation of random accidents , sort of like a chaotic string of garbage full of non purpose and utter meaningless .

5. Our moral fiber inherent in all of us, just came along by accident...yet EACH 'atheist' demands to be treated with absolute moral integrity by others...all the time and in every situation.

What a convenient scapegoat the 'atheist' Will contains. Utter willful and sustained self deciet based on the catalyst of pride , arrogance, and rebellion. This is why it is an eternal crime to play this dangerous charade game and snub God all of ones earthly life.

This sort of post has been appropriately described as the "gee whiz" argument for the existence of God. Thankfully, your personal incredulity is not the basis by which knowledge advances in an incremental way towards truth.

If you are interested in a serious discussion of evolution, I'm up for it. But you are going to have to frame better arguments than "gee whiz!"

There is no need for one to believe in atheism. Atheism is a lack of belief in a deity. Therefore, since no belief is required, 007.5 is right.

I'm gald that you place the word 'knowing' within quotation marks, for it is only a simulacrum of knowledge. One interprets his personal experience through the filters of his previous experiences (including conditioning and beliefs), and intuition is often wrong as it is only a guess, a 'feeling' that something is about to happen or happening. Intuition is remembered when it turns out to be correct, not when it is wrong.

Do you just copy and paste from a text file on your desktop, or do you actually un-dig this denounced refuted crap everytime you get a chance? I'm thinking a text file would be useful.

There are studies that show that people in secular countries do live very happy and contentful lives.

That some highly secular countries are happy is not in dispute by me. In the case of Scandinavia the state or community sometimes took the place of church and it arguably worked okay. (Arguably because Sweden had one of the most intense eugenics programs outside Nazi Germany plus both nations he names have major alcohol and suicide problems as I recall)

My point is just it is not really correct that secular nations are necessarily happier than religious nations. Sometimes they are sometimes they're not. By most measures I know the Czechs and Estonians are certainly much less happy than us or the Maltese or the Irish. The Japanese example might be poor because Japanese do not answer questions about happiness the way we would, but the British are certainly not all that happy. According to UNICEF British teens are the unhappiest in the developed world and are the worst on risky behavior. (Although on suicide the British are relatively low, also the highly secular Dutch and Scandinavians do great by the young according to the UN)

Still when a highly secular nation has a high level of human development and a strong sense of community while having a low-level of poverty it often is content. If sometimes stagnant and oppressive of the individual.
