And on another note, why is Jesus considered to be white? Why is he always painted as a white man, blue eyes, blonde, tall, or acted by whites in movies?.
He likely did read it , can be proven from his alleged teachings from the books, citations from the Torah and the disputing arguments about its words. Not to mention the references to him as "teacher".
Of course his being fictional, you could be correct.
The thread about the book of Jesus got me to thinking about a question that has never even occurred to me before. I think it would be likely that Jesus like most of the population at the time would have been unable to read or write although I've never heard anyone express an opinion on it. Of course if he was able to turn water into wine I wouldn't think that it would have been difficult at all to do so (obligatory sarcastic remark).
When you stop and think about it the Bible only contains written accounts of the life of Jesus that were written long after his death. Because Christians believe that the Bible is God's word wouldn't it have made alot more sense to have Jesus contribute a certain portion of the Bible in his own words? That would have ended so much of the speculation and unanswered questions regarding his life and his message. Has anyone ever heard of anything whatsoever that was ever written and directly attributed to Jesus?
No, and this is another example of why sola scriptura is heresy.
The unbroken chain of apostolic succession, ordination and tradition
within the Church is a wealth to draw from. By not writing, Christ
made a point. His work must be handed down to men through the
Spirit, not through the ink and papyrus.
Concerning when the Gospels were "written", it's not as late as
today's critics purport. Much was written about Christians that was
lost. The synoptic gospels all come within decades after the Resurrection.
It took a long time to compile and write back then, especially given the
persecutions and wars of the time. You do know that all 11 apostles
were murdered except John. The fact that Paul's epistles date to the 50s
doesn't mean that early gospels weren't being written long before that.

White with blue eyes, I'll give you that. But I've never seen a portrayal of Jesus with blond hair. Yet everyone claims this is the most common portrayal of him. Where are you people seeing all these blond-haired, blue-eyed Jesuses?

A very uncommon and unusual portrait of Jesus by Rembrandt. This is the only blond Jesus I know of.
