The only person who should judge is God, right? He is ultimately the one who decides whether we go to heaven or hell so why is it that at the "church level" gays are judged and "kicked out" of their religion?

In Romans 1:27&28 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28. And even as they did not like to retain God gave them over to a reprbate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
God has already judged them, yet is willing to forgive all of them, if they are willing to turn from such a lifestyle. God commands us to try and keep a standard in the church. Not one of us is perfect, yet when such a sin is done openly church leaders are (commanded by the Scriptures) to take action. I might add that this involves all sin that becomes a problem in the church. If a chruch allows sin to flourish within it's ranks, pretty soon you will find a church that stands for nothing.
