I meant it as an analogy only. Take away all physical energy/matter, then you would have your physical nothing. Nothingness has no meaning apart from something, just like darkness has no meaning outside of light.

Trying to recruit someone? There are other things in Hinduism and in some of the religious paths in India there with a similar nature, hatha yoga, raja yoga, kriya yoga, shadba yoga, etc. Oh, and besides Siddhartha Gautama(and maybe some of his immediate students), I haven't read of anyone in Buddhism attaining anything beyond the astral level of consciousness, which according to eastern based belief systems is not beyond dualistic reality.
"i would not waste time and energy listening to people...not had direct experience regarding emptiness ... and ... attained a state of non-dualistic awareness"
Aww, you make me feel so little. *cuddles emptiness inside*
Of the two systems I've seen, one practices breathing exercises(breath holding), the other involves mantras(repeat a word). The purpose of such is to open the third eye, which is often referenced as the pineal gland. There is also a practice some time ago where Tibetan Buddhists would drill a hole into a person's forehead then insert a sterilized stick till it touched that person's pineal gland and they would stick them into a dark shed and they would sit there for a few weeks till their third eye opened. It was used to accelerate the process.

Ummmm, i'm not going to get into a dialogue with you but your post is so erroneous.
You are grossly misrepresenting both Buddhism and the spiritual fruits and flowers of India.
It's actually painful for me to see them so disturbingly misrepresented.
As i see it, it's really important for you to know that you do not know and to keep silent until you have some (much) more wisdom, knowledge and experience under your belt.
I don't know if you're the dude from Inida but (if so) i don't care where you're from, you don't know what you're talking about ... not to the extent that you should be disseminating information on a forum where a lot of people already have skewed notions about the religions / spirituality of the east and won't know enough to know that you do not know of that which you speak.
And, btw, i am not a Buddhist ... not a card carrying one anyway.
And btw a 2nd time ... the way you edited my post is really unfair.
You've messed with the sentences and the words and altered meaning and that is a big no, no.

PeaceOut

Misrepresented how? Point out one single error. I merely glossed over the varying systems, which would give a person a more unbiased look at eastern spirituality, versus saying here's Buddhism. I spent many years reading Hindu and Buddhist texts. I think you are overassuming your level of understanding. I'm not from India. How do you know what I don't and do not know. I'm from the U.S. I didn't edit your post in the slightest. I merely quoted you and I quoted you exactly. Go look back at your original post. You are the one who put Buddhism on this pedestal. I am not promoting any faith, merely saying to look at all of them and make your decision.

I don't misquote anyone. You are saying Buddhism is the best. Well what do you expect? You are the one misrepresenting.
